Bangkok by Train, Boat, Bus, and Tuk-Tuk
A few weeks ago, I was visited by a quartet of friends, several of whom are transportation geeks... er, enthusiasts. Reprising a transportation-themed tour I led two years ago, I took my guests on a six-hour excursion around the metropolis. This time, the number of modes of transportation increased from seven to ten: Thong Lor red bus, Khlong Saen Saeb canal boat, taxi, third-class heavy rail, non-air conditioned city bus, Chao Phraya express boat, ferry, tuk-tuk, Bus Rapid Transit, and Skytrain.

Oh and you're right, the water in the canal is EEWWW!
I haven't been on a bus rapid transit and Chao Praya express boat. Next time, I should join you.
Chris, you are the ultimate host/tour guide. Out of all my visits to Thailand, no tour guide would provide such a "journey", unless guests paid dearly for that!
I tried almost all of these modes of public transportation, and I found taking tuk-tuk the most fun, just like a go-cart dashing all over the streets!
I remember the first one but this one was even better... but where were the helmets for the motorcycle taxi?! Yikes!!
That's some pretty sweet coordination and quite the tour service you're offering! I think my best attempt would be "Uh, I ride a bus.... the buses suck. Wanna take a cab?"

I wish I had you as my tour guide when I visited Thailand. And those shopping centres were really inviting.
