Moving to Xanga 2.0
So it seems the migration to Xanga 2.0 is for real. I received my email from John. Because I ended up pledging enough for eleven one-year memberships, I have at least a few to share with folks who want to migrate but didn’t feel they could afford to pay for the blogging.
If you would like to have your blog migrated along with a one-year membership, please send me a private message and I will include your blog name in the list I send to John. Your privacy will be respected and I will not share your name on this blog.
Thanks – Chris

You are so generous! I’m hoping that those who couldn’t afford it are still with us and will take you up on the offer.
Wow!That is so cool of you! I hope some people who need this boost to keep blogging on Xanga will contact you!
HUGS!!!
@adamswomanback - @murisopsis - My fear is that those who could not afford to pay for blogging left the Xanga ship long before the end of the fundraiser. Hopefully, they will trickle back.
I haven’t gotten my email yet. Hmmm….
@christao408 -
I’m still here….Like I said, even if I can’t blog, I’ll remain, because I’ve come to know and appreciate so many people on here……
You are so sweet and I would love to take the offer, but I don’t know you so…But I hope other people take this offer
Here’s a mini for you
Sadly, could only afford to pay for my wife to continue blogging. Just now getting back into blogging with a new identity and purpose. Not sure if you have anything to give to a stranger, but my father told me you never know the answer unless you ask the question.
In any case, it is very generous of you to do this for people!
I didn’t receive my email!
Awesome guy!
Very generous of you!
This is really nice. I think I ended up being migrated over because I was a premium member. I didn’t pledge because we didn’t have the $ at the time. Yesterday, I went to try to pay and my credit card wasn’t accepted. SO I am not sure where I am & I’m not sure how to find out
This whole thing is a bit overwhelming to me. Reading your post, reminded me WHY I love Xanga… now to just figure out how to stay.
I just don’t get it. I didn’t pledge for various reasons but I might still like to remain on Xanga. But there is NO INFORMATION coming out at all. No info on how we could join up and remain. No info on if our blogs will be preserved if we sign up by a certain time. And if we don’t… what happens to our “stuff”…. according to Xanga agreement it is our property, are they just going to dump it? I don’t want my writing to show up in some random site years down the road because they didn’t delete it off their servers…. I’ve got about nine years of posts and going through them and deleting them one by one is just not an option… I’d like assurance that they are going to really be gone except for my downloaded archives… but questions to the Xanga team get no response. Maybe since you have their attention you should find out. lol
And that is why I didn’t pledge… just no information at all, no attempt to keep one informed and give the blogger, their bread and butter any idea of what to expect. So unorganized.
@pottermom - The communication has left a lot to be desired. Emails have started arriving to those who pledged, containing instructions for how to renew. If you would like to take one of the year memberships I’m offering, let me know.
@mi1kandcerea1 - @ElusiveWords - Hopefully it is coming soon. Be sure to check your spam folder as it might have ended up there.
@MOM2_4 - My understanding is that everyone will be migrated eventually – they are just starting with folks who pledged. On the new WP site, I’m sure everyone will have the option of paying for their blog there. I think the fundraising site no longer accepts credit cards because the goal was reached and the date has passed. Hang in there!
@hombre_de_la_mancha - @ThaLoner - Oh, thanks. The community is what I most value about Xanga and it isn’t a community if only the paying segment is here.
@curiouspurplepenguin - As a matter of fact, I have one more spot. Will include your name on the list and see what the next step is. Stay tuned!
@summereque - Oh, thanks!
o.O Whoa, thank you Christao408!
@christao408 - thanks for the tip, it was in my spam folder… just above the email from “little sluts”.
This is really generous of you! It’s great to know that there are people like you in the community.
That’s very generous of you.
@ElusiveWords - Migrate Xanga and buy authentic Viagra all at the same time. LOL
@BelowtheAsianStandards - @KnightInCROATIANarmor - >Thanks to both of you for being a part of this community. It really is what makes Xanga different and I think the community will gradually rebuild on the new WordPress platform.
@curiouspurplepenguin - You are welcome. I sent the email to John today with the list of names. We shall see what the process is from here.
You are truly very generous! I have probably blogged my last post–I am thinking I will really miss the community here, but did not have it in me to pledge. I guess I’ll find out of that is a mistake or not.
@christao408 - Thanks. You too.
Hmm I’m not I understand the whole thing about Xanga. The older version (this one) is still up and 2.0 is launched as well? I’m not sure I even want to migrate to a new one because most of my friends from here have left already.
It’s very generous of you, Chris. I’ll text you if I change my mind. Hehe
@I_love_Burma - Check the Xanga Team’s page for complete information! Migration starts tonight.
@lil_squirrel4ever - It would truly be a shame to lost you from the Xanga community. I’ve enjoyed reading your thoughtful and articular posts. I hope if you don’t stay at Xanga that you do at least blog somewhere.
@christao408 - thanks for the kind words. I plan on continuing on WordPress (http://lilsquirrel4ever.wordpress.com), but we’ll see how things go. I hope we can keep in touch (I have subbed your Instagram too).
Again thanks Christao408, very very generous. Any word after contacting John on the process after submitting the names?
Well, the names were submitted. Have you tried going to the new Xanga log-in page? Are you able to log-in? More importantly, are you able to post a new entry?
