New Tawn C Flagship Store in the Works
Just over a year after opening his first boutique at the Central Chidlom department store, Tawn is close to opening his first flagship TAWN C store at Gaysorn Plaza mall in Bangkok. This stand-alone store will offer him greater control over the space compared to the boutique in the department store. He will have a locking front door, the ability to play his own music, and won’t have employees of other brands traipsing through his space on their way to and from the stock room.
The design for the store was done by our designer friend Ble, who designed the boutique and our condo, too. The feel of the space will be very modern but sophisticated, with walls divided into large pixels with molding. It should be very nice.
At this point, the hope is that the store is ready to open next week. The picture above is from a week ago. The big question is whether the carpet is ready for installation on time. I suggested that Tawn should do a photo shoot with his models in hard hats in the construction zone of his store. He didn’t think that was a good idea.

That will be awesome….I like the set-up picture…..And I do hoe that his store will look just like it…..
Thanks – I’m curious to see how the finished product compares to the drawings. I studied drafting in high school so think I’m pretty good at translating drawings into real life, but when I visited the construction site recently, it felt different than I expected.

CHRIS! This is such great news. Tawn will feel so good having full control of his store. I can see how difficult it must have been for him to have his “closet” in a department store. The picture looks very good and I know it will be a very chic and upscale boutique all by itself. Congratulations to him. I too hope the carpet will be installed soon. If not, get a few area rugs and have them on the floor for the opening day.
I think the idea of the models in hard hats is super. Tawn doesn’t like that?

that is neat! and very rich looking.
I think he’ll do great but after being in the retail business at the little flea market mall coop that I’m in I know so many people don’t realized that at first you might not make any money but you stick in there and now I have people who come in and ask for my booth.(started in 1994)
That’s exactly the truth – you have to work very hard for a long time before a business actually becomes profitable. We’ll get there eventually!
Tawn is really making a splash! I hope the grand opening is on time and a roaring success! I’m hoping you have been making a photo documentary of the whole process…
Thank you. Actually, we wanted to keep a photo documentary but have found access to the construction site is a pain. The mall only lets work be done after hours and that’s a tough time to get in and film.

I can’t wait – I will be in Bangkok for just over a week in early october and will be staying at the intercontinental and as it is connected by a walkway it will be so easy to drop by and have look. Very excited
